Either Oar (5) just went out far too hard last time out in what was a strong race. Little freshen up since and I like the switch to Melbourne as this race looks to suit. Should be right in the mix.
West Australian galloper My Bella Mae (1) did enough first-up and will come here with a good deal of improvement.
Lempicka (2) is a mare in form and deserves her spot among the top four selections.
VERDICT: Rich Fortune (4) to win.

Midtown Boss (3) has a super formline, given he ran second to subsequent William Reid runner up Johnny Rocker. Back to Flemington is a positive, along with the drop in trip.
Talbragar (6) is an interesting galloper given he hasn't been sighted since last year's Country Championships Final. His best is more than good enough to win this race, but would prefer to see him before jumping in at his new surroundings. In the numbers though.
Ivan's Hero (9) is as consistent as they come.
VERDICT: Grinzinger Angel (17) to win.

El Soleado (9) mixed it with the likes of Campionessa and Gold Trip last start. Back to Flemington is a positive and the freshen up should leave some zip in the legs for the mile.
Forgot You (1) is likely to improve with the run under his belt, but should be hitting the line hard.
Bear Story (2) one at double figures that wouldn't surprise.
VERDICT: Arran Bay (7) to win.

Ameena (4) is two for two and while both have been against inferior company, she's looked like a serious racehorse in those runs. Up to 1200m is the query, but she looks promising.
Tobeornottobe (3) brings form behind Group 1 winner Hayasugi, beaten narrowly by her on debut before finishing fourth in the Fillies Prelude. Will be right in this.
Flattered (2) is one at a price that could run well. Thought it was a great run at Launceston last time out and with even luck, she can figure in the placings.
VERDICT: Silmarillon (1) to win.

Mick Price has poured a bit of cold water on What You Need (7) ahead of his return. Having said that, from what we've seen on the track, this is a proper horse and if he's even 80 per cent of what he was this time last year, he wins. That's the big question though.
Najem Suhail (4) is always competitive in these types of races. Blake Shinn is seeing them well of late and should give this horse every chance.
Recommendation (2) ran a super race in the Oakleigh Plate. It's a first go down the straight but he's a speedy galloper that should be right in the mix.
VERDICT: Katsu (6) to win.

Thought Let'sbefrankbaby (5) was good first-up on the Heath track. Will come here with good improvement second-up and she's an SA Fillies Classic winner, so the rise in trip is going to suit.
Aristonous (7) is honest but doesn't like to win very much. Had his chance last week but should be poised to run well again.
Tricky draw for Lauding (1) but he's a horse in form and should be thereabouts again.

I Am Unstoppable (2) was specked first-up in the Black Caviar Lightning in a race that was a forgive effort. His best is more than good enough and back against his own age is ideal.
Estriella (13) was a soft winner of the Inglis Sprint last start and a repeat effort has her right in this. Only negative is the slight drop in trip.
Saltaire (15) hasn't missed a place in a long time and John O'Shea would have brought her down for a good reason.

Mr Brightside (1) ran a super race in the All-Star Mile when he found Pride Of Jenni (7) a touch too quick to reel in. Up to 2000m is a positive with the last time he raced at the trip, it took Romantic Warrior to beat him in the Cox Plate. Drawn much better on Saturday and will be peaking for this.
Atishu (8) has a love affair with Flemington and 2000m. This has been the long-range goal with her, so expect the Chris Waller-trained mare to produce a peak performance at her third run in. Perfect barrier and Blake Shinn aboard.
Pride Of Jenni (7) is the most-improved horse in the country - she's absolutely flying. The only question with her is will she run a strong 2000m? She's only raced at the trip once but it was on a heavy deck and that was a completely different Pride Of Jenni. Tough as nails and will be in front a long way from home.
VERDICT: Legarto (9) to win. Trifecta with Mr Brightside (1) and Atishu (8).

That looks to be the case with Gear Up (4), who has come back in super order. Strong win at the 2000m last start and the extra trip should suit. Is a Group 1 winner as well, so class is on his side.
Mankayan (7) is honest, loves Flemington and will enjoy the rise in trip.
Glentaneous (5) was a strong run in the Pakenham Cup last start. A similar effort will have him thereabouts again.
Major Beel (2) has to be a chance at big odds. Don't leave him out of the quaddie.
VERDICT: Gear Up (4) best value of the day.

I like the Johnny Rocker formline and Dashing (3) was third to that horse last start. A similar effort will have him in the mix.
Tricky barrier for Gringotts (6) and he's also likely to need the run. But he's got a bit of class on his side and can run a place.
Green Fly (5) is overs.
VERDICT: Rheinberg (2) to win.
