A capacity field has been assembled for the 2024 running of the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast.
Here is our analysis and top four tips on every horse set to line up.
MORE: Magic Millions Gold Coast 2024 - Carnival and Race Day Guide
1 - CIFRADO
Toowoomba-trained galloper that beat them all fair and square last time out in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate. The 1400m is his pet trip, winning the Group 2 Spirit Of Boom Classic, and he's still open to improvement third-up into the grand final.
Verdict: Should be in the finish again.
2 - CHRYSAOR
Chris Waller's galloper that had his chance against Cifrado last time out but will be set to peak on Saturday. Was nine weeks between runs that day off the back of his Group 2 Callander-Presnell win so you know he's going to be better from that. Barrier eight has done him no harm and gets the ultimate positive with James McDonald on board.
Verdict: He's the one to beat.

Was a classy two-year-old but hasn't been able to recapture that form from early on in his career. Did show a much improved effort first-up in the Gosford Guineas when he was fourth to Royal Tribute but he does need to take another leap on Saturday.
• 'Group 1 person': McEvoy's Magic Millions faith in Coffey
4 - ROYAL TRIBUTE
Tough effort to win the Gosford Guineas when it looked like Infatuation had Royal Tribute covered before he kicked back to win. First-up off only the one trial there so he's open to improvement but he'll have to work early to lead from barrier 11.
Verdict: Has to be respected.
5 - VANQUISHEDROYAL TRIBUTE is SW140 for Snitzel & his 6th from 20 runners o/o Elusive Quality mares in the Gosford Guineas

- Pedigree Update (@pedigreeupdate) December 28, 2023
Going to need some Blake Shinn magic after drawing second from the outside in 22. Winner of last Saturday's Magic Millions Maiden Plate and does need to step up with the rise in class but has shown good ability.
Verdict: Will have to improve again.
6 - DEFIANT SPIRIT
Lightly raced galloper from the Stuart Kendrick yard that has built a strong record in seven starts with three of those translating to wins. Did have his chance two starts back in the Listed Gold Edition Plate when he was outclassed and beaten more than five lengths.
Verdict: Looks outclassed.
7 - WEIGALL TIGER
Kelly Schweida's galloper has been performing well in three-year-old races in Queensland but this is a whole new kettle of fish. Continues to improve but this looks a bridge too far.
Verdict: Can't imagine him winning.
8 - FLYING TRAPEZE
Solid third to Royal Tribute in the Gosford Guineas when he did have his chance. Was six weeks between runs that day. Has a tricky barrier to overcome.
Verdict: Runs well but doesn't place.
9 - VEECEE
Promised a bit early on but yet to come up as a three-year-old. Beaten two lengths in a Benchmark 70 at Caulfield last month and off that run, I couldn't see him finishing top three.
Verdict: Not here.
10 - SYDNEY BOWLER
X-factor horse on the scene that has won his first three starts, albeit against easier opposition but he did it pretty well when stepping up to Saturday grade last start. Barrier 17 but an in form Jason Collett sticks and if he continues to improve, he'll be in the mix.
Verdict: Short at $5.50 but he's in the mix.
11 - DEEP RESPECTOver the moon to see Sydney Bowler win impressively on debut! The 3yo son of Deep Field was purchased with @JohnOSheaRacing@mmsnippets Gold Coast Sale from @widdenstud for 300k. This nice colt was bred by the prolific @GilgaiFarm '¤¸ÂÂÂÂÂ👠pic.twitter.com/ufHkQedgqn
- Suman Hedge Bloodstock (@shbloodstock) December 2, 2023
Handled himself well in the Vo Rogue Plate when fourth to Cifrado. Was making ground late so the small step up in distance should be in his favour. Has a tricky barrier but does look to be Kelly Schweida's best chance in the race.
Verdict: Has to lift.
12 - THE KING
Going OK this preparation but hasn't shown anything to suggest he'll be competitive in this race. The booking of Mark Zahra is a positive.
Verdict: Not here.
13 - ABOUNDING
Improved third-up when grabbing the win in the Listed Gold Edition Plate. Gets here just shy of a month between runs and does step up to 1400m for the first time in his career. He's second to Cifradfo as the best local hope.
Verdict: Don't dismiss.
14 - INFATUATIONUp goes ABOUNDING in the Gold Edition Plate! ðŸÂ†
Rob Heathcote and Martin Harley combine with the promising three-year-old to capture Listed success in her third-up assignment 👠#QLDisRacingpic.twitter.com/z3O6WFYUvn
- RaceQ (@RaceQLD) December 16, 2023
Popular filly from the Bjorn Baker stable that looked to have Royal Tribute cold in the Gosford Guineas. She's flying this campaign and now looks set to peak fourth-up and out to 1400m.
Verdict: Can place.
15 - TRIFLING
Handy filly that is always thereabouts in the three-year-old races in Brisbane. Basically been going around since October so she's rock hard fit for this but just lacks the class.
Verdict: Not here.
16 - SUNSET DREAMING
Winner of the Eureka Stockdale two back at Ballarat then beaten comfortably when travelled up to Queensland for the Magic Millions Rising Stars Plate. Drawn a similar barrier to what she had that day.
Verdict: Not here.
17 - ZOUPHORIA
Thought she performed well up in grade in the Vo Rogue Plate when leading. Had to do a bit of work to cross that day but she's drawn closer to the fence in barrier six and Tim Clark jumps in the saddle.
Verdict: Over the odds.
18 - PURE PARADISE
Six start maiden but was an improved run last time out.
Verdict: Just not good enough.
19 (em) - SHOW ME MERCY
Winner of three of his six starts and against good company too. Needs a scratching but not the worst hope if he makes the field.
Verdict: Don't dismiss.
20 (em) - KEENAN
Will run well if he can get a start because he's drawn well and will be rock hard fit.
Verdict: Could entertain at a price.
21 (em) - GLASS OF ROSE
Has been beaten a long way at her two starts this preparation.
Verdict: Not going good enough.
22 (em) - KING OF DUBAI
Second to Sydney Bowler last time out at Randwick and that horse is $5.50 while King Of Dubai is $151. Needs a few scratchings but has to be over the odds.
Verdict: Overs.
23 (em) - HELLFIRE EXPRESS
Won four of his six starts albeit against much easier opposition.
Verdict: Not here.
