Caulfield Guineas favourite Militarize completed a crucial part of his build-up to Saturday's $3m event on Tuesday morning.

Champion trainer Chris Waller was on hand to watch Militarize have his first look at Caulfield in a gallop with Group 1 winner Lindermann, who will run in the Might And Power Stakes.

Michael Dee warmed the saddle for Militarize's Guineas rider Joao Moreira in the gallop, reporting the Golden Rose winner comfortably handled the Caulfield course.

"It was a nice straightforward workout," Waller said.

"We didn't ask him to do too much behind his stablemate Lindermann, who is a quality performer himself. He just had a look around and making sure he got on the right leg, which is always important when running in Melbourne.

"He's done plenty of work in Sydney on his left leg but to do it here at Caulfield is another thing."

Waller said Tuesday's Caulfield excursion would make life easier for the brilliant son of Dundeel on Saturday."I think it makes it a lot easier come race day," Waller said. "They parade better having come here before without having too much pressure put on them. They come back race day and take it all in their stride."

Militarize is the $2.80 favourite in TAB's latest Caulfield Guineas market.

Militarize was a dual Group 1 winner as a two-year-old before cementing his immense stud value with his last-start win in the Group 1 Golden Rose at Rosehill.

The Golden Rose has been the supreme form race leading into the Caulfield Guineas in recent years.

Waller said the budding star had progressed well since the Golden Rose.

"He should be peaking for Saturday's race stepping up to a mile," Waller said.

"He's come through the Golden Rose well, eaten well and travelled down with no problems,

"I'm pretty happy at the moment."

Militarize was one of 15 acceptors for the stallion-making race on Tuesday morning,

The valuable colt is Waller's sole chance to give him a third Caulfield Guineas win after claiming the rich event with Press Statement and The Autumn Sun in 2015 and 2018 respectively.

Premier Melbourne trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace have four Caulfield Guineas runners, including Brisbane Group 1 winner King Colorado.

Godolphin, who has won the last two editions of the Caulfield Guineas with Anamoe and Golden Mile, will not have a runner this year.
