Heidilicious and Shez Sinsational backed in Derby

The two fillies, Shez Sinsational and Heidilicious, have been the best backed at Sportingbet Australia to win Saturday's Queensland Derby.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said both fillies had been backed from $9.00 to $8.00 and were clearly his two worst results at the moment.

"Both horses put in nice runs in the Oaks and the punters obviously think the fillies form is better than the boys," Sullivan said.

"We have taken a series of four figure bets on the two fillies and over half the money we are holding on the Derby is on those two.

"Punters have shown a lot of confidence recently backing fillies against the boys with Shamrocker very well backed when she won the AJC Derby.

"The fact that punters have backed these two so heavily should make the others very glad Scarlett Lady isn't going around in the Derby after the way she dominated the Oaks."

The Graeme Rogerson trained Shootoff is favourite for the Derby at $3.90 and is the only one ahead of the two fillies in Sportingbet's market.

"Shootoff has been very solid in betting but he is really the only one of the colts and geldings punters have come for," Sullivan said.

"He will still run a very clear favourite but it wouldn't surprise me to see the fillies get even closer to him in the market."
