If leading local apprentice Cejay Graham has a good day on Saturday at Doomben then the chances are so will followers of Graeme Carey's tips.

There was a lot to like about TIME TO PROPHET (5)'s run in the Gold Coast Jewel where she got a long way from the wide gate and hit the line to just miss the placings. She has drawn the ace here, has strong North Queensland form and with a more positive ride from Nikita Beriman can control the race.

RUN LUCY RUN (9) beat all but the winner on debut in a midweek Maiden. The step up in trip won't worry her and with Damien Thornton riding for father Glenn there will be no excuses.

MISHANI ECLIPSE (2) was never in the Jewel but Robbie Dolan stays on and Les Ross horses invariably perform well on heavy tracks.

Winkers go on JEMOMA ALPILAGE (8) which has been screaming out for this trip after hitting the line strongly at both outings.

Verdict - TIME TO PROPHET (5) gets all the favours.

Barry Lockwood may have found the key to DRIALLE (1) whose only win came on a heavy track and is likely to get conditions to suit. He just missed when a heavily backed favourite and resuming at Ipswich last start, improves second-up, Michael Rodd replaces Noel Callow and he has the speed to overcome a wide gate.

VICTORIA ROC (6)'s only win was two years ago but she rarely runs poorly and won't mind heavy ground. With Marnu Potgieter's 3kg claim she is well placed and will get a good run throughout.

This extra distance will suit NEW LEVEL (2) which made good ground after a slow start when having his first start for Kelly Schweida. His old mate Jim Orman replaces Kirk Matheson and that is a strong pointer to success.

TOUCH OF GRACIE (16) has been racing well this preparation and finished ahead of NEW LEVEL (2) last start. Mark Du Plessis stays on and this trip is what she needs.

Verdict - DRIALLE (1) to relish the conditions.

Kris Lees has brought PRIME IMPACT (6) North which is fitter for two outings and will appreciate heavy ground. He went too hard last start but that won't happen with Andrew Mallyon and two of his three wins have been at this trip.

The lightly-raced Pierro mare SIMPLY REFUSE (12) has been improved by two outings and will appreciate the extra distance. She showed promise at her first preparation and is ready to go on with it.

LADY LE DA (10) keeps racing well but is unable to break through. She just missed in higher Benchmark last start but the tighter Doomben track and a 3kg weight rise may test.

FEARLESS THINKING (14) impressed at Gatton with a dominant win after a change of stables. Her Maiden win was on a heavy track and she may have more upside than most in this field.

Verdict - PRIME IMPACT (6) ready to strike.

A good gate and drop in trip suits REDWOOD SHADOW (9) which hit the line strongly here two starts back in similar grade. With Cejay Graham's claim he drops 2kg on that effort and with a positive ride can get an overdue score on the board.

MAYFAIR SPIRIT (6) hasn't won for over 83 weeks but put in an eye-catching effort when running on at Eagle Farm under 61.5kg when resuming for a new stable. His last win was on a heavy track in a similar Benchmark over this trip at Moonee Valley and a repetition has him in the frame.

BEEF WEEK PRINCESS (4) gets plenty of racing but rarely runs poorly and often goes around at big odds. She just missed at Eagle Farm last start in a similar race and while Doomben hasn't been a happy hunting ground is racing too well to ignore.

COMMODUS (2) is up in grade but a heavy track won't bother him and he will appreciate the 3kg claim for Marnu Potgieter. He bolted in here last start and can give a sight again.

Verdict - REDWOOD SHADOW (9) gets his chance.

The promising TRANSATLANTIC (2) was dominant here last start and being by Snitzel out of an Oaks winner neither the track condition or trip should be a concern. Angela Jones stays on and from a good gate can control the race.

RED DEFCON (8) has only won one of twelve but was racing in good company last preparation. She resumed with a strong effort at the Gold Coast, this trip is her optimum and will get every chance with Cejay Graham.

ICHIBAN (5) has been taking on older horses and only just missed last start after being held up on straightening. This trip suits and Mark Du Plessis can go forward to overcome the gate.

RINGER'S REWARD (3) does plenty wrong and has been unable to get a win this preparation but has run into the placings on all but one occasion. This trip suits and one of his two career win was on a heavy track.

Verdict - TRANSATLANTIC (2) the one to beat.

A heavy track suits CHAYSE 'N'ARTIE (5) which is maintaining form despite plenty of racing. He can give a start but this is his trip, Boris Thornton gets back on and if close enough can swamp them late.

DISPUTED RIVER (10) found a couple stronger late over 2400m last start and will appreciate the drop back to a distance at which he won three starts back. He has been up a while but drops 1kg and Jake Bayliss knows what to do.

A DEEL OF HUMOUR (8) has won both outings this time and was dominant last start. Mares in form are always worth following and while Doomben isn't her happy place she will have no trouble with the trip or track conditions.

GULF OF TOMINI (11) got a long way back at Eagle Farm but hit the line as well as A DEEL OF HUMOUR (8). The extra distance suits, he has form on heavy ground and with a more positive ride from the better gate will give them something to think about.

Verdict - Several chances but with CHAYSE 'N' ARTIE (5).

Class is with CHINNY BOOM (4) which is yet to win beyond 1100m and has not been on a heavy track but has an outstanding record of eight wins from thirteen starts. She was too good for her own sex at the Gold Coast but rises 1.5kg here with Cejay Graham taking a claim. When last here Lady Laguna got the better of her but there is no disgrace in that and she will be hard to beat again.

ASTERO (2) loves a heavy track and was too good when resuming at Kembla Grange. He hasn't had much success in three previous visits to Doomben but will get conditions to suit and from gate three with a 2kg claim for Bailey Wheeler there will be no excuses.

MISHANI SNIPER (3) missed the start and got too far back at Eagle Farm. He has won twice here previously, gets conditions to suit and from a good gate with Jake Molloy's 3kg claim will be in the box seat throughout.

NORTHERN EXPRESS (8) was only narrowly beaten in similar company at Eagle Farm last start when having his first outing in five weeks. He has won twice here previously, is unbeaten on heavy ground and will be given every chance by Taylor Marshall.

Verdict - Class to prevail with CHINNY BOOM (4).

The much-travelled CIRCULARITY (1) beat subsequent Open Class Saturday winner Ned's Gully at Dalby last start and has a good strike rate winning ten of 28 outings. With Bailey Wheeler's 2kg claim he makes his own luck and will be hard to pass.

MAJESTIC BOOM (17) has won both outings at good odds. He takes another step up in class taking on seasoned horse but has done everything right so far, drops 6kg and Adin Thompson knows how to steer him.

A wide gate tests ROLL UP (3) but he has a better record than most of these, drops 4kg on his last start Ipswich win and Jim Orman will take no prisoners.

MILL ROSSA (2) has been trying to win a Saturday race for a while and has a good third-up record. He doesn't mind heavy ground, gets a nasal strip and will get all the favours from gate two.

Verdict - CIRCULARITY (1) has beaten better horses than these.

There might be a bit more to KANAZAWA (8) which has come back in good order and was too strong for a Class 6 Plate field last start over 1200m. He rises 2.5kg but likes heavy tracks and peaks third-up. The extra distance suits and he will get the gun run from gate four with Cejay Graham.

AT WITZ END (9) has raced well here previously and was dominant at Grafton last start. A change of stables has refreshed him, he drops 4kg and Danny Peisley will make the most of a rare Saturday ride.

THE DROVER (10) can mix his form but got a positive ride last start and was far too good. He has drawn well again and a similar ride by Nikita Beriman has him in the finish.

It has been a while for ROMAN AUREUS (4) but Doomben is his best track, this is his trip, a 3kg claim helps and with conditions to suit, if there is anything left Jake Molloy can find it.

Verdict - KANAZAWA (8) has the most to offer.

There is improvement with STAR OF CHAOS (7) which was well-supported but never in it from a wide gate when resuming. She will strip fitter second-up, has won on heavy ground and from a better gate Angela Jones can make amends.

EVOCATOR (4) found a passage and rounded them up from the back last start at Eagle Farm when resuming. This track is less to his liking but he has a good second-up record, loves heavy ground and with a similar ride from Tahlia Fenlon will be in the finish.

THE LIONESS (13) has had a long break but loves heavy ground and has an excellent first-up record. David Vandyke knows how to get them ready and Michael Rodd will have her roaring late.

It has been a while between drinks for SWANSTON (9) but he won a recent trial, has won twice here previously and relishes the heavy. He has surprised before and with Danny Peisley can do so again.

Verdict - STAR OF CHAOS (7) for me.
