Sydney Stakes History
As part of Racing NSW’s massive 2022 prize money announcement worth $30 million, the Sydney Stakes was increased from $500,000 to $2,000,000.
To further grow sprint races across spring, a new $3 million bonus fully sponsored by Sportsbet will be paid to the horses winning the most points across the following six races. These races will be known as the Sportsbet Bet With Mates Bonus Series:
Points will be awarded based on 5 points for 1st, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd, 2 points for 4th and 1 point for 5th in each of the first 5 races. Double points will be awarded for the Nature Strip Stakes on Golden Eagle Day.
It will also be a condition of the bonus that horses must have competed in at least 3 races in the series to be eligible.

Channel 10 also does some free TV race coverage during selected carnivals.
Pay TV
- In terms of Pay TV, one of the following channels: Sky Racing 1, Sky Racing 2 and Sky Thoroughbred Central will broadcast, although the most comprehensive broadcast will be on Sky Racing 1.
Streaming
- People also have the option to stream Sky Racing through their TAB accounts or Sportsbet accounts or even through the Racing NSW website.
