2013 William Reid Stakes


The 2013 William Reid Stakes, held under the Friday lights at Moonee Valley, will be the final Melbourne start of Black Caviar’s Hall of Fame career.  

A career that has seen her undefeated in twenty-three starts, including a dominant display in the Lightning Stakes during which she showed no effects from her seven month spell.

The owner of Thirteen Group One wins, Black Caviar can tie the legendary Kingston Town as the all-time Aussie record holder, as well as joining Flying Halo (1953, 1955) as the second horse to claim the William Reid in non-consecutive years.

Last year's William Reid Stakes was won by Foxwedge who was running first-up, with pre-race favourite Hay List a tired (58.5kgs) second and Buffering third.
