Well based on speed figures Testacana is well under the odds. I have Devils Quest having top rating figures with 1 and 2 ahead of him as well. Not a great betting scenario for those backing Moody's horse, i'd say he'll have to produce a Career best to be winning this race and your getting $2 or so. No thanks

I think we can be drawn into bad rides and pass judgement too easily without doing our research on current and recent S/R and really draw a line through a horse's chance before they even race which in turn can cost you money. Nikolic no doubt can butcher a horse ( Just watch his ride on Sport chic in R1 las saturday) but when doing the form you really need to try and leave your personal vilification's aside as they can be very misleading without looking at there S/R

Born to rock recorded awesome figures in a Class 2 race here two starts ago then just had no chance when they stepped her up to 1500m as Lisa cropp rode her way to hard to early and gave her nothing left in reserve for the last section, she fought on well though and i like the jockey change in Mathew Palmer and the drop back in distance to where she created those great figures. She's definitely the one to beat if she reproduces those numbers again, i really hope though that Belletrist doesn't take her on for the lead and slaughter each others chances of winning.
Ipswich is a particularly small tight turning track with a smallish straight, one that you should be zoning in even more on only backing on pace leader type horses especially in big fields. Any interference or blockage and the race is over before you can say Boo!

Mr makebelieve has top rating figures of 95, the only only runner to record a rating like that is Baron. He flies fresh loves the heavy, i reckon that race will ulitimatley be decided by how fast they go early because if they don't go that fast early then i can't see anything running Mr makebelieve down as he can run a very fast last section. I have King cobweb a 20/1 shot

Kenny kid rated well last start and is definitely a chance, Mythical spirit also can run good time, failed at only Heavy track run but that wasn't a great guide to it's ability on wet ground as it wasn't right for that run and was spelled after that one run for the prep, any money for it would be a good indication of how it's going to perform but it definitely has the time ability to win that race. Sunday wonder could run into a place with a good early tempo.

I can't have Our Nkwazi it's figures are below Devilenko's and is yet to run good time in all it's wet runs, it's under the odds for mine.

Believe it or not Ferocia has the best rating for 1000m has won on a heavy track twice and ran a bottler up the straight in a strong race this time last year against the likes of Grand duels and Galbraith. Goes well fresh and won a 30k race first up the start before that race on a heavy track at Sandown Hillside. They opened it $16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow did they get that wrong. Devilenko is way under the odds at his current quote of around $4 - the figures weren't flash last start and he'd have to improve 3,4ls to win that race tomorrow not exactly a great betting proposition considering the price your getting.

What absolute nonsense that race was setup for it by running a very fast first section giving a big advantage for backmarkers and to be honest the last section 600m was only average to slow, Dariana ran about 1.5ls faster for his last 600m last year off a similar tempo and Scarlett lady's race only rated around the 100 mark good but definitely nothing outstanding or freakish. Jeez the media can Hype up a horse. Scarlett lady may well turn out to be a star but don't carried away just yet.

Freak Kiwi filly wins Qld Oaks

BRISBANE, June 4 AAP - A scintillating Queensland Oaks win by Scarlett Lady has trainer Graeme Rogerson declaring her a freak but he will not rush a decision whether to back her up in next week's Queensland Derby.

Scarlett Lady gave boom New Zealand apprentice James McDonald his first win at the elite level in Australia when he booted the filly home for a 2-1/2-length win over Becerra in Saturday's 2400m feature at Eagle Farm.

Fellow New Zealander Shez Sinsational was a further 1-1/4 lengths away third, just in front of the fast-finishing Divorces.

McDonald, 19, was ice cool under pressure and was never worried when Scarlett Lady had only three runners behind her mid-race.

"It's an unbelievable feeling to win my first Group One in Australia. It's my fifth all up," McDonald said.

"It's been a long time coming as I've tried a few times before.

"She's been very good to me and I hope it continues but I was never worried in the run as I knew I was on the best filly.

"When I let her go in the straight she picked them up quickly."

Rogerson, who trained Scarlett Lady's sire Savabeel to win the 2004 Cox Plate, will discuss backing the filly up in the Queensland Derby with her owner Max Whitby on a flight back to New Zealand on Sunday.

"She's a freak and could be anything. She could go on to be something very, very special," Rogerson said.

"She just keeps getting better and better. James (McDonald) said before the race she would just win.

"I'll talk with Max (Whitby) about running her in the Derby when we fly back to New Zealand together.

"We're going back to Auckland for a big jumps race on Monday."

While Rogerson was reluctant to commit to the Group One Queensland Derby, Whitby said he favoured spelling Scarlett Lady to prepare for the Melbourne spring.

"I've always thought she was going to be a Group One winner," Rogerson said.

"I'm very happy for her sire, Savabeel, as it's his first Group One winner as well."

Rogerson's wife, Debbie who co-trains Scarlett Lady, will also have her say on whether the filly backs-up in seven days at Eagle Farm.

"I ride her most of her work and she's been up a long time but I was very confident she'd win after she worked with Shoot Out at the Gold Coast on Tuesday," she said.

"The Caulfield Cup in the spring looks very enticing to me."

Scarlett Lady's victory emulated the feat of another Kiwi, Ethereal, who had been the only filly to win the Doomben Roses-Queensland Oaks double, in 2001.

Ethereal went on to win both the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups that year.

Stratcombe - Clearly the best bet of the day tomorrow, ran outstanding time first up and then just got too far back last start in town but finished off well in a strong rating race. Will start odds on or thereabouts but should bolt in, handles all surfaces and has about 3,4ls overall better speed figures than the rest, also weighted well and drawn well and has Newitt on board. Will go straight to the lead and looks a moral. Maybe a fixed odds starter for your doubles

Waterhouse has given it three trials preparing it for a big run 1st up, it's best figures of 102 are clear top rating figures for this race and it has good early gate speed to overcompensate the wide barrier which inturn may only be around 11 after the scr come out, loves the sting out of the ground, nash rides and clearly the one to beat.

Yeah you might be right Melbman. Havatryst was unsuited last start off a slow tempo could of run home abit better though and he's not the type of horse i like to back anyway and Spirit of Boom did die on his run that last 50m last start but I reckon he'll get with the experience of 1350m now. Born To rock will hopefully run in the earlier race as that's who i will be backing in that race, so then i won't be betting in this race.

Legsman was a huge run last start and had T Lovelock-Wiggins not slaughtered it although it didn't help that the saddle slipped on one of the other horse's which made him go way too soon because of it, it would of won. Still should of let the horse go. Significant jockey change ( The Pumper) has top rating figures and as long as he doesn't get slaughtered again he'll be right there at the end, i just hope cassidy rides it at a good tempo as that's what produces Legsman best, not a moderate tempo and then sprint. I just hope Tullamarine doesn't take on Legsman and they end up going too fast because you need something there at the end for a 2400m race. He's definitely over the odds!

Ready to rip has a best rating of 93 with Spirit of booms best 101, Born to rock 101 as well as Havatryst. Ready to rip seems to be a hype horse and comes into this race well under the odds at his current quote of $6.50, he's a get back horse and this is a big field which is devoid of speed especially if Born to rock runs in the earlier race. I'll definitely be laying him he has all the right characteristics for me to lay in this race, uncompetitive figures, get's back in a race that lacks tempo. $6.50 or a ( 15.38% ) chance. No thanks!

The market has this race wrong Curtana should be the fav and the barrier looks to be the only concern, Sincero is drawn awful for a get back horse in a big field and is too short at it's current price. There are plenty that can win this race though Varenna Miss, Listen Son, Sincero, Curtana,Falino and rough chances to King Pulse and Rightfully Yours if he happens to bring his best form. The tempo will be all important in deciding who wins Go wide in your quaddie
