Thanks thezig, I don't like dedicated followers (punters) losing their hard earned cash because of my tipping. On my tips, because of the long losing runs, a follower would have had to replenish their banks 3 times, since my tipping lost it's glory run, so it's been a torrid trot. I understand as punters we all have losing runs, but consistency is something I aspire for, and that just hasn't been happening.
I have taken a 2 week break and hopefull, have my mojo back. Some consistency for placings at least would be a great start.

Your first 4 mths W $2720 P $-1036. Spartacus first 4 mths 2008 W $2450 P $-19600. You shouldn't need any more encouragement keep on with what you're doing. In a few months you might add a tweak here and a tweak there and it will all click into place. Hope you stay

Can't take a trick. I believe it's time to find a tipster with more consistency. Sorry followers.

Thanks digg, but I still am not happy with only the 1 placing from the other losses. Still a winning day is what we are after and we achieved that.

"you are consistent recently" - I had to review the way I looked for selections. I am still not 100 percent happy. and that bad run near had me doubting myself. I was disappointed I let so many followers down. In the end I had to drop my stake down from 2x5 to 1x2. I know that's not the best way to go, but until I stay consistent I will be leaving it at that. The 18th when I didn't get my tips on was the turning point. So I gave the free tips early in the forums hoping someone got on. It turned out a good day. Hoping to stay consistent - cheers Looserein

Thanks guys. I have had to rethink my selections and have given away looking for the roughies. I apologise to all those who jumped on board a burning train. My selections will be more consistant and definitely viable as betting propositions. I still stick to my staking plan as a percentage of my bank as I have done for years, at 2%win x 5%place and it will be for all selections from now on, but it's your choice as to how you want to stake. Good Punting and let's hope the ride is a tight rein not a loose one.

cheers grantsteen - all has been quiet for a few days. As we all know the bad ride for a punter is longer than the 8 seconds of a rodeo ride. Thats why I have so much faith in my time proven (for me) little staking plan.

Hope you guys haven't lost faith in the staking plan. I know my win strike rate is down at the moment but my place dividends with 5 percent of the larger bank is booming.

In answer to your question about pace, I find that many races are won from horses off the pace. Above 1200 metres for instance you do not want to be on the leader but horses that are running 2nd to 6th say. Today with Vizhaka it was running in the perfect spot 2nd then the jockey took the lead way too early in my opinion and then it got run down by a horse running off the pace. You also need to look at the barriers and some tracks if you draw above 10 you can forget about winning. Sizzling is a perfect example on the 31st of Dec, it drew gate 12 and ran 2nd. It was never going to win with that gate. Doomben and Eagle Farm it tends to happen but not at all distances. You need to do some homework. So you have to know the track you are betting on and where your horse is likely to be in the run. Mooney Valley you do not want to be coming from midfield or behind. I use to ignore pace but these days I have started to use it more and more. Good luck with your tips, I am sure winners are around the corner.

Cant pick a winner at the moment but the place getters are doing the job with the 2 banks.

I have had the worst start to a punting year since I can't remember so I am feeling sure today will be the turnaround. Lets hope so.
