What a stupid ill-prepared rant Wazza! If you are a "well respected member of the industry" as you say then identify yourself!..You are taking personal affront at remarks not even directed at you.
Hilton Donaldson doesn't "work 6 or 7 days" to support the industry! He does it to support himself!...unless you are claiming he donates his wages back!...next you will be telling me that Tom waterhouse works his butt off to support the punter!
Hilton has far more vocal critics on this site than myself....he must be rubbing quite a few up the wrong way...but its only a racecall after all and a couple of digs at him by me over the years pales into comparison compared to the almighty sprays I have given other people in the industry.
Now, if you read my posts carefully and have followed me,as you claim, then you will notice that I take aim at the powerful interests in the industry who exploit battlers!...You will notice that I have been severe on the Waterhouses and the racing administrators who exploit punters and smaller owners....that in itself is a contribution to the industry!!....or do you think some of those twits in the media who carry on ingratiating themselves to the powerful and gloss over the injustices are the ones "supporting our great industry"...no...they are part of the problem.
Tell me these "decent" people I bag????....apart from your mate Hilton who I gave a serve to long ago for His Black caviar call. If these people want to be in the media and present an image but can't take criticism then they should be in another job...And if you are trying to tell me that The Waterhouses, Vlandys ,Messara etc are decent people....you've got to be kidding!!!!

Guv! Just checking my email and got one from you! Good to hear you miss me! lol. I'm on holidays at the moment, enjoying some winter sunshine in sunny Queensland. My last meeting for the Hong Kong season was the Champions and Chater Cup meeting on Sunday May 26.

10 years back, the end of season break was about 12 weeks. But nowadays the break is only 8 weeks as the season has been extended into July, and it's normally wet, and very hot and humid: so I take off after the Champions and Chater meeting which is the last Group 1 race of the season!

My main betting in Hong Kong is between meetings 25 and 69 .... (isn't that a magical number!) : this is when most horses have had at least 2 runs in the season, and when the tracks are consistently GOOD TO FIRM.

I really do like to have a *complete break* from racing for 3 months of the year to do things I usually don't have time to do during the busy HK racing season! I try not to think about horses ONCE during that time!

But, I'm thinking of coming back for the SEASON FINALE week: posting some of the highlights of the Hong Kong season, as the season draws to an end.

The Sha Tin season finale is on Saturday July 6. And this year, HAPPY VALLEY holds the FINAL MEETING on Wednesday July10.

I do love the END OF SEASON FINALES!

The 2013/2014 season begins in early September.

So, I should be in the mood after 5 weeks in the sun, sand and surf, so probably around July 4th I reckon.

Dear Demi is struggling bit...i thought she was in for a great campaign after that win last month.You were right about IAD..i think he's got fivehalf covered....he's an absolute star...the Rand Guineas and Rose Guineas were super runs...i had 500 on him for the Cox at 21 after those great runs...i reckon he and super cool are the two standouts for the Cox if Atlantic jewel doesn't come up.

Yeah got on Hawks at just under flip of the coin. I had a feeling about Cyril with first goal 50 points Thought NIKNAT being out was the difference and made Hawks a betting prospect. I rarely bet on football.
Derby is exciting matchrace. Matchrace rarely go to script. Do you still think 512 loves a hard prep? Can he put in another Career best? For interest I might try backing 512 before the jump and laying off in the run his pattern allows for that. IAD is a great ''in run' prospect with his pattern would be keen on 1.80. Im inteseredted to look at acceptances. I hope the two star horses frighten off 100-1 chances hate to see a Waterhouse no hoper taking on 512 for the front.

Well done with hawks.I just can't get IAD's acceleration out of my mind...i would be afraid to back five and half to beat him.That said the 1.6 about IAD doesnt interest me either...i will just watch the race. I don't think five will take any harm at all from sat's run...if he could get IAD off the bit at the 700 he might have a chance....so in the run may be the best shot as you say.

GG...if you have an account with sportsbet or ias they are offering $4 about exceed and excel to win sires premiership under 'racing specials' its a steal i reckon, though they only let me on to win $500. He's $1M in front of fastnet rock and is probably a $1.5 chance.

So backed mine as thought overs and happy trails unders broke even on race thanks to in run on winner. Got 7$ @ 800 could see was in t right spot criisong amd IAD under pressure 4 lengths back. QE,fav graveyard. Lohnro, shotgun lodge, IAD a few that cometo mind that gone down well into the red.

yeah Gg..sires goes on total money from all placings in all races. with most of the big carnivals over exceed should hold on with his million dollar lead unles a fastnet rock horse like sea siren can win the doom Stradbroke etc. the $4 is super value.

12-1 about Commands on Sportsbet seems value in the Sires Premiership. Epaulette is fav for the Stradbroke and Commands runners usually chalk up winners on wet tracks. Amazing how 'off' this market has been. 2.1 Exceed and Excel 1.4 Fastnet Rock 6-1 Lohnro and 12-1 Commands. I can't work it out.

Gday GG...well done with Sea Siren...hope you got on for the place. If epaulette can win the Straddie it will put commands in a challenging position as he will pick up $1m. I had a little saver on him too. I will prob break even if commands or fastnet win the title and make small profit if Exceed can win it. the trouble with these "specials" markets is that they only let you on for piddling amounts.
Spirit of boom is flying and the 9.5 a place appeals in the straddie...funnily I prefer him in a fast run 1200 but he's well over the odds for the place in straddie. good punting.

nah no saver. Exceed and Excel has kept that 600k lead since the 10,000. It all comes down to the Stradbroke. I lost my bankroll with a couple of cumpulsive bad Saturdays. Hawkesbury into Scone. Loose every year on those two meetings. Did my penance, had a spell for a fortnight. That 12-1 about Commands was juicy wouid love even 20 on that. I'm going to save on Your Song. I'm back now turned $100 into $1200 on Sat with 15-20 ''in run'' winners. Was seeing them like beach balls plus had a couple tight photos go my way with iggy pop and price of capers. Some days are diamonds.

I,ve had my best punting season this year and I can thank the photo finish for it...I got 4 or 5 really close ones go my way on crucial bets and it makes all the difference between an average year and a good year...the year before was a lemon and the photo killed me when Red cadeaux got beaten by a bee's knee in the Cup... i knew I was in big trouble when R.Freedman said I had won!!...would have got 14k on that race!!...but the luck has turned now...amazing.

Totally agree about the photo. At Scone the fortnight earlier I lost every tight finish, yet I kept saying my luck will turn ít averages out on a day'... it didn't. I just hope for a 50/50 split. yeah GG...Spirit of Boom had a place sown up every where except on the line. I backed buffering the win on the day as well when I saw it was suiting leaders...then linton came from nowhere! throw in my win bet on planet voyage and my bet on geelong 1-39 at $8 and it was an unlucky day all round.
We might hold on in the Sires. I think Skyerush is a fastnet mare is running in the big mares race in two keeks worth 300k to the winner but apart from that there aren't a lot of big money races left, so here's hoping.

I had another great day 'in the run' couldn't get enough on Pearl of bells in the Randwick stayers race. Later had a decent bet on Moriarty and followed it up with 30-1 about Jive talk at Kembla 2 mins later. Rare form I'm in. another + 1200 day which is massive for me.
I reakon you could of layed off on Buffering at the 200 for even money for thousands. Planet Voyage I looked to get on at the 300 metre mark and was offered 1.8 so no bet. You should think about hedging especially on a leader like Buffering.

You are right GG..Skyrush is not a fastnet rock...I must have mixed it up. Try to get on Exceed again..hard to see how fastnet can make up 500k in the last 8 weeks of winter.they just let me on for another $400.

No one going better than J. Cassidy ATM. Nash was top class yesterday. His ride on Moriarty was a highlight. I had my heart in my mouth at the 300. He managed to keep his momentum whilst Lightinthenight tried to pocket him and hit the gas at the exact right moment.

Fastnet only has 4 starters this weekend. 2 are well in the market. Exceed has more starters with relaxed and happy about the best chance. God win by ceasars princess first up yesterday. I think exceed needs another
200k to be safe which is very likely.

Yeah Fastnet should be back below 10million now. Sportsbet have shut down the market. I went out to Randwick Easter Monday. I saw a good Fastnet Rock prospect Eagle Island D Hayes. Needs a dead track or better was carrying excess condition. Picked Bye the Bye from the yard had 5/5 @ $140/1. Was my first pick. Missed the 200/1 on Betfair. I got put off by the price as it was my first pick on looks. You don't get too many on top picks at that price.

On Sea Siren, I speak to John O Shea's farrier every few months. I sell him booze. He told me that the horse has never been better. Coolmore paid 2 million for her a couple months back, they ain't stupid. With BC winning the TJSMITH i've watched the last 200 a few times. Sea Siren gets home as good as anything.If the track is ok I will have an in interest bet on her at Ascot.
