The 2 great loves of DEANJOHN's life ~ the GGs and G-Strings!

Remember the San Diego Charger Girls ~ they performed in the home straight at Sha Tin last year around this time. The Hong Kong Jockey Club sure know how to put on a good show! 85,000 racing fans, and they all stayed on for the after race performance! Lol.

For a blow-up full size poster of the San Diego Charger Girls on the Sha Tin Straight, copy and paste this link into your browser.

lol.... love your work dejaytipsfav... it is really clever. This season I am tipping on selected meetings, mostly the major racedays that feature Group racing, where I have the 'best chance' of winning.

Racing this Sunday heads back to Sha Tin, it is meeting 41 of the season, and the main race is THE GROUP 1 CHAIRMAN'S SPRINT PRIZE over 1200.

I will be tipping on this meeting!

How Does That Grab You Darlin' ~ this *girl* is leaving you behind!

78,000 fans froze their collective Chinese nuts off at Sha Tin yesteday~ ~ ~

The Hong Kong Jockey Club CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges thanked the "extremely loyal fans" after a passionate crowd of 78,136 braved the biting cold and rain to enjoy an enthralling afternoon of racing, the day's highlight being a thrilling climax to the HKG1 Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Classic Mile.

Despite the inclement weather, the 11-race card returned the second highest turnover in the past nine years.

"Looking at the coldest Chinese New Year in 16 years, having over 78,000 of our fans coming to the races is an extremely good start to the year," said Mr Engelbrecht-Bresges. "We were a little bit down on last year's figure, which I think is understandable.

"Turnover today was HK$1.22 billion, which was also a little under last year, by 3%, but I think one has to again consider the impact of the weather - it is still the second best turnover for nine years.

We think it is a very satisfactory start to the year of the 'ice' dragon.

"And it was also good to see that our two main races today produced fantastic finishes. Both the Classic Mile and the Chinese New Year Cup were close fought contests, and that shows just how competitive Hong Kong racing is."

Kung Hei Fat Choy!

It is the Year of the Dragon. May I wish you and your families a healthy and prosperous year ahead.

Possibly the most famous Hong Kong "dragon" in the minds of foreigners is our late kung fu star Bruce Lee, whose Chinese name carries the meaning of "little dragon".

Here are some more Chinese New Year Fireworks. Spectacular!
