Today at most metrolpolitan venues field sizes are well down. After years of race horse field/results analysis Accur8 has discovered that Profit On Turnover is significantly reduced when field sizes are 11 or less. The reason for this we feel is due to 2 factors. The first being that there is considerably less value in each race, and the name of the game is to take advantage of value runners. The second reason why POT is reduced in small fields is because the races are not run at a true pace. Small feilds are notoriously trap races in that jockeys up front dictate terms too easily and strange results occur. It is uncanny how often the roughie in a small field sulutes.
