She's Miss Devine a winner again

BRISBANE, May 17 AAP - A maiden filly can take some credit for the return to form of Queensland filly She's Miss Devine.

Trainer Kelso Wood said there were two factors in She's Miss Devine's return to form in a three-year-old race at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, including the companionship of She's Miss Lippy.

She's Miss Divine was touted as a future superstar when she ran outstanding time and scored by seven lengths at her first start in an Eagle Farm in February last year.

In the 15 months since, She's Miss Devine has had only six more starts and Saturday was her third career win.

"We have had a lot of trouble with her feet and the farrier Steve Crosbie has done a great job with her," trainer Kelso Wood said.

She's Miss Devine is raced by Diane Crunkhorn and her family who got the Show A Heart filly from Glenlogan Park Stud.

"Steve Morley from Glenlogan suggested She's Miss Devine might need a friend so they also bought She's Miss Lippy," Wood said.

"She's Miss Lippy was a cheap buy but she has shown promise and will win a race. She keeps She's Miss Devine happy."

The trainer s hoping Seeking More finally has some luck in the barrier draw for the rest of the winter.

Seeking More was a good second to Falino in the Bribie Handicap at the Sunshine Coast from barrier 18.

"I think he can race well in races like the Lightning Handicap later in the winter but it is at Doomben this year. If you draw a bad alley there you are no hope," Wood said.
