Randwick R3 No.12 Scarlet Oak
Scarlet Oak (12) caught my eye when making her debut for Ken and Bev Kelso back in New Zealand and I'm confident she measures up in Australia. Showed the turn of foot of a very good horse on that debut last month and has subsequently trialled up well at Warwick Farm. Couldn't be in any better care coming to Chris Waller stable and I reckon she wins. Future star.
Kiwi visitor Riproar (5) was a dominant winner on resumption, charging through the heavy conditions to bolt in over 1340m at Geelong. He won over 1500m on dry ground at Bendigo last campaign and started $6.50 against Riff Rocket in the Listed Super Impose (1800m) at Flemington.
Now third-up Tojaki (11) gets up to the right trip and will appreciate getting firmer ground. She has been giving them too much start and was never on the track last outing but from a better draw with Robbie Dolan staying on gets her chance to put a win on the board.
Backed up a solid performance (4th) in the Morphettville Guineas with a win here last start, seems to progressing with every run and the step up in trip looks suitable. He should prove tough to hold out late.
She's first-up here over 1000m, coming in off a nice trial win on April 8.
She's unbeaten after two career starts earlier this season, and resumes here after two trial wins at Belmont to tune her up for the fresh run.
