SYDNEY, Oct 3 AAP - Jim Cassidy limped out of Canterbury on Wednesday but not before declaring he would be fit to take his important rides on Epsom Handicap day at Randwick.

Cassidy struck his left foot when he came out of the barriers aboard Nissile in the fifth race and hobbled back to the jockeys' room after the event to receive medical attention.

He was replaced on his final two rides at the meeting.

The Grand Slam-winning rider is booked for Lightinthenite in the Group One Epsom Handicap (1600m) on Saturday and Kelinni in the Group One Metropolitan (2400m).

"I'll be right for Saturday, I've got to be," Cassidy said as he left the course with his foot bandaged.

"My whole foot got twisted as I was coming out of the barriers. But I'll be right."

The John O'Shea-trained Lightinthenite is at $13 with TAB fixed odds for the Epsom while last week's Colin Stephen Quality winner Kelinni is at $7 for the Metropolitan.

His other mounts on the Super Saturday program are Maule's Creek in the Craven Plate and Satin Shoes in the Premiere Stakes.
