Group 1 South Australian Derby nominations

Nominations for the Group 1 South Australian Derby (2500m) have been released, with a list of 31 horses declaring for SA's $1 million staying feature to be ran on Saturday, May 4.
Gun Victorian training pair Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jr) have the biggest hand in the race, nominating geldings Warmonger, Shinjuku and Tulsa King, all three geldings are set to line up in Saturday's G3 Chairman's Stakes (2000m).
Impressive New Zealand gelding Antrim Coast finished runner-up to Orchestral in the Group 1 NZ Derby (2400m) in March and is among the nominations for the SA Derby, last start he finished second behind Golf Wolf in the Listed Galilee Series Final (2400m) at Caulfield - who has also been nominated.
Group 1 NZ Oaks (2400m) winner Pulchritudinous - trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott - will have her first Australian run in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks alongside smart McEvoy-trained filly Coco Sun, both have been nominated for the SA Derby.
Chris Waller-trained filly Ahuriri won the Listed VRC St Leger (2800m) on Anzac Day and is Waller's only runner nominated, while G1 ATC Derby (2400m) third placegetter Glad You Think So and G1 Victorian Derby (2500m) placegetter Sunsets are also nominated.
Positivity, Mollynickers, Into You, The Autumn Belle and Infinity Imperial are five other runners that are set to run Saturday's Australasian Oaks and have also been included among the nominations of 31.It's an Air Assault in the Port Adelaide Guineas 💥

Smart Andrew Gluyas-trained frontrunner Air Assault has been on the SA Derby path and is nominated for a second Group 1 assignment, he is the leading SA hope and is set to come through the Chairman's Stakes alongside the Patrick Payne-trained Bold Soul.
Progressive stayer A Samurai Mind - trained by Dan Clarken and Oopy Macgillivray - is the second of three local gallopers nominated for the Derby, with the Ryan Balfour-trained colt Astrodean rounding out the that trio.
