Turf guru Nevesh Ramdhani will return to the Australian Turf Club (ATC) in a new role next month after being appointed the head of racing and wagering.

Ramdhani resigned from his post as Gold Coast Turf Club track manager on Wednesday to take over the role set to be left vacant by James Ross as he prepares to head to Hong Kong.


Ramdhani spent more than a decade with the Australian Turf Club and was Sydney's general manager of racecourses from 2019 to 2022.

He returns to the ATC after just under two years on the Gold Coast.

"We are very pleased to be able to fill this critical role in Sydney racing with a person of the skills and experience of Nevesh,'' Australian Turf Club chief executive Matt Galanos said.

"This role involves not only the oversight of track management at each of our racecourses but also the racing and wagering department of the Australian Turf Club.

"Nevesh joins the senior leadership team at the Australian Turf Club as we continue to host and deliver world-class racing and spectacular Carnivals at four racecourses across 110 race days for 52 weeks a year.''

Ramdhani will kick-off in his the new position on May 22.
