Dominic Beirne: Green Moon in the Australian Cup

It’s Super Saturday tomorrow and Dominic Beirne has put plenty of time into previewing the great Group One cards in Melbourne and Sydney.

Beirne tips Green Moon in the Australian Cup saying that he rated one point off his personal best first up and that “he will immediately rebound to his PB rating, particularly as this will be his final run this preparation.”

He suggests that lightweight runners are the way to go in the Newmarket and recommends backing Shoot Out and King Mufhasa in the Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm.

SATURDAY SPECIALS FROM BETFAIR’S DANIEL BEVAN

Newmarket tip – BETTER THAN READY

In his Betfair preview, Dominic Beirne forecast that this year’s Newmarket would go the way of a lightweight and this colt possesses the greatest overs of that category.

Best – PUISSANCE DE LUNE [Flemington R4 No. 1]

Beirne thinks this stallion is “destined for greatness” and thinks he’ll make a winning return to racing here.

Value – KING MUFHASA [Warwick Farm R6 No. 2]

He’s around the $14 mark on the exchange and Beirne thinks he could get a nice lead “as I’d expect the Gai Waterhouse pair to take a trail” in the Chipping Norton.

Lay – LUCKYGRAY [Flemington R6 No. 1]

Dominic Beirne’s IWS computer rates this gelding upwards of $20 yet he hasn’t traded longer than $10.50 on the exchange. Will be able to lay in single figures.

Best backed – NORZITA [Flemington R5 No. 1]

She was huge at Moonee Valley and punters think she’ll do the same thing here. $1.99 in to $1.82 early on the exchange.

I HAVE to comment , ex bookmaker who has no interest in expanding punters knowledge or profits, why anyone would listen to this Guy, anyone remember Value bet ? , sanctioned by the TAB as some mysterious way to make money , this clown picked 3 or 4 horses per race and couldn't get anywhere near making a profit ?????????

I did say i might be wrong!

However when i have noted his advice I have found he gets afew things right but to many wrong. His ratio of correct out comes vs bad results is to thin for me BUT that's just me. Some people might see value in his predictions, I would rather listen & note other experts comments that work better for me. "Each to their own"

Happy Punting : )

Who rates him as a "tipping guru"? His work details finding overlays in the market through analysis not tipping ie he had Shamexpress marked as a 13/1 shot whereas the market was closer to 20/1, PdL was market shorter than the market, hence why it was dubbed his best - to be fair going off the strength of it's run home it's pretty silly to doubt that, he was also bang on in his assessment of Luckygrey who was definitely no 9/1 shot.

Things such as this article condensing his work into short tips and lays doesn't do his work justice but if you noted his pricing and assessed it against the market over time you'd have to be a fool to come up with the conclusion that his work is a failure.

Yeah Mars why do people rate this guy as Australia's tipping GURU "especially the TV channels". I have listened to this guy in full (mainly over Melb Cup week) around 3 times & 3 times I think he has "overall" failed on all 3 occasions. My man is Deane Lester, every tipster has his bad days BUT Deane is if not on the ball he is genuinely around it : ) He got me on to Kasane early on the programe on MC day at about 30's & Centennial Park last Saturday to wave me home my Flemington quaddie. I would rate even Greg Miles lengths ahead of Dom. I think some people can really OVER annylize stats & Dom is faultless at proven this theory. "BUT maybe im wrong however he's not getting my attention again"
