Hall of Fame jockey Hugh Bowman is the new rider of boom four-year-old Waterford in The Silver Eagle which is now part of an extraordinary Everest Day program offering nearly $23m prizemoney at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Tommy Berry has been Waterford's regular rider but is committed to ride Numerian in the Caulfield Cup on Saturday, providing Bowman with the opportunity to partner the promising imported galloper.

Waterford, trained by Chris Waller, is a fortuitous big-race pick-up mount for Bowman as he did not ride last Saturday due to suspension.

The $1m Silver Eagle (1300m) and Group 3 $200,000 Angst Stakes (1600m) were added to The Everest meeting after last Saturday's washout of the final four races at Randwick. The Group 3 $500,000 Gloaming Stakes has also been rescheduled for Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The Silver Eagle is among five races next Saturday that carry stakes of $1 million or more on the richest raceday in Australian turf history.

Bowman has rides in all five of the big-money races including Lost And Running in the $15m The TAB Everest, Remarque in the $2m Sydney Stakes, Talbragar in the $2m The Kosciuszko and Rustic Steel in the $1m Five Diamonds Prelude.

Racing NSW has confirmed new nominations will be called for the Silver Eagle and Angst Stakes on Monday.

Both feature races needed to be rescheduled as they are important lead-up races to even bigger goals - the Silver Eagle is a qualifier for the $10m Golden Eagle and the Angst Stakes leads into the $2m The Invitation.
