SYDNEY, Dec 15 AAP - Country-trained sprinter Jest Crewsin' might not be the punters' fancy for Saturday's Razor Sharp Handicap but he has a few tickets on himself.

"He can be an arrogant little horse," Muswellbrook-based trainer Jan Bowen said.

"He has his moments.

"Everything he does he does a hundred miles an hour."

But the six-year-old can get away with a few foibles.

The winner of nine of his 45 starts, including a feature win in the Listed Carrington Stakes earlier this year, Jest Crewsin' has banked almost $340,000 in prize money.

But he will have to break new ground to add to that tally in Saturday's Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m) at Warwick Farm.

Jest Crewsin' is yet to win in five attempts at the distance, although he has performed creditably highlighted by his second to Title in the Listed Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford in June.

"I'd prefer it was over 1100 because it is only his second run back," Bowen said.

"But I still think he'll acquit himself well."

While the distance isn't ideal, his 53.5kg handicap shapes as an advantage.

The six-year-old lumped 58kg when a first-up sixth to Recorrido over 1100m at Rosehill earlier this month, beaten two lengths.

He will meet that mare 4-1/2 kilos better at the weights on Saturday and while Recorrido is an $8 chance with TAB Sportsbet, Jest Crewsin' is $21.

"He's the outsider in the field according to the papers but I don't think he'll be far away," Bowen said.

"He should have finished closer last start.

"He got back out of his ground and he wanted to lay in a bit around the turn.

"I thought it was a really good run."

Jest Crewsin' is one of nine runners in the Listed sprint with markets headed by Darley's Rarefied, a last-start second to Ortensia in the Group One Winterbottom Stakes in Perth.

He was the $2.30 TAB Sportsbet favourite on Thursday ahead of the Mark Kavanagh-trained Catapulted at $3.80.
