SYDNEY, April 13 AAP - Black Caviar has extended her unbeaten sequence to 25 wins, setting an Australian record for Group One victories in the $1 million TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick.

Making only the second Sydney appearance of her illustrious career, Black Caviar posted her 15th Group One win to take her past Kingston Town for elite level victories.

"She's a mighty mare," trainer Peter Moody said.

"Twenty-five straight (wins), unbelievable, 15 Group Ones. What more do you say?

"Horses look fast until they line up against her."

Racegoers were out in force as Randwick's $150 million grandstand was officially opened.

But, as Moody said, it was Black Caviar who they came to see.

"I'm really pleased she has put on one hell of a show for the big crowd that has come out here," he said.

Sent out the $1.14 favourite, Black Caviar was fourth away, but jockey Luke Nolen was able to improve him position in the middle stages.

Nolen had Black Caviar within striking racing outside the leader Rain Affair at the 600m and she took control of the race at the 300m to race clear for a decisive win.

"If there are any knockers after that, come and see me and I'll sort you out," Nolen said.

Epaulette finished second with Bel Sprinter taking the minor placing.
