Beirne: Take All Too Hard in the George Main
After finding Epaulette, Stout Hearted and plenty of exotics for Betfair punters last week, Dominic
Beirne has returned with in-depth analysis of tomorrow’s Randwick and Caulfield programs.
Beirne likes All Too Hard in tomorrow’s Sydney feature, the Group One George Main, saying the colt
has “particular traits that may result in a lower than desirable winning strike-rate but may see him
capture some significant races” and recommends punters take advantage of the fact that his
“admirers have abandoned him faster than the Titanic passengers.”
In the Tea Rose Stakes, Beirne doesn’t think there’s much between Dear Demi, Jade Marauder and
Meidung, but noting that “Dear Demi has had a margin both times” the fillies have met,
recommends backing the Clarry Conners-trained filly.
Beirne’s best bet in Caulfield is Soft Sand in the last at Caulfield.
Why bet Best of 4 when Betfair is offering Best of 5 for every Group One race this spring?
Group One win bets placed through Best of 4 at Betfair Tote Extra will be paid at the highest price of
all three Australian totes, the official bookmakers’ SP and the Betfair Starting Price.

Underwood Stakes tip - MANIGHAR
Only horrible luck cost him a win in the Makybe Diva and he’s perfectly placed to make amends
here. Hasn’t run a bad race for Peter Moody and his backers have confidently pushed him in to
$2.80.
Best bet – DEAR DEMI [Randwick R4 No. 1]
In his weekly preview for Betfair punters, Dominic Beirne states that there is not much between
Dear Demi, Meidung and Jade Marauder but the former has had a margin at both their meetings and
recommends her in the race.
Value bet – POLISH KNIGHT [Randwick R7 No. 10]
Beirne does not consider this a strong WFA contest and though unplaced at his first two runs this
prep, thinks Polish Knight carries a very good potential rating into the
Lay – SOUTHERN SPEED [Caulfield R7 No. 14]
Denied the luckless Manighar last start, but has plenty to overcome here, including a poor record of
mares in the race with no wins for the fairer gender since 1985.
Best backed – COMMANDING JEWEL [Caulfield R6 No. 8]
Rising in grade and finds the continually-improving Members’ Joy, but punters have brought her in
to $3.10 and she has plenty of friends on the exchange.
