SYDNEY, March 10 AAP - Trainer Paul Messara has been fined after a syringe was found in a raceday gear bag at Canterbury on Wednesday.
Messara's foreman Barry Wintle told stewards it was an oversight and they agreed with him it had not been used.
Stewards questioned Wintle about the matter before Flowerchild won the Family Funday Day Easter Monday Handicap (1250m)
Presiding steward Greg Rudolph said Flowerchild was allowed to run because no substances or treatments were administered to any of the stable's runners.
Stewards issued a fine of $200.
