Despite his winter campaign being cut short by injury, versatile galloper Black and Bent, has earned the honour of being Magic Millions' most winning graduate during the 2009/10 racing season.

A $25,000 graduate from the draft of Summerset Park Stud at the 2007 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, Black and Bent won eight races in the 12 month period.

He scored one more win than fellow Magic Millions graduate Catapulted - a stakes winner in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane during a season were a staggering 5213 races were won by Magic Millions graduates in Australia.

Black and Bent, by Black Hawk, was bred by Gumeracha based couple Rob and Maureen McBryde and was purchased by Rick McIntosh, through Blue Sky Thoroughbreds as a yearling.

The $25,000 purchase has won 12 races from 33 lifetime starts and earned his connections over $467,000.

Black and Bent and his star half brother Some Are Bent, who won a pair of races during the season, meant his dam Summer Gambit was also the most represented by wins for the season.

Communique's progeny won nine races, while another four mares were next with eight wins (via progeny).

Summer Gambit's latest yearling, a colt by Barely a Moment, was purchased by the team from Washpool Thoroughbreds at March's Adelaide Yearling Sale and is being prepared for October's National Horses in Training Sale at the Gold Coast.
