Jason Coyle splits with Patinack Farm

SYDNEY, Sept 7 AAP - Jason Coyle has split with high profile owner Nathan Tinkler and relinquished his position as trainer for Patinack Farm.

Coyle linked with the Patinack operation last year after Tinkler parted ways with Randwick trainer Anthony Cummings.

Coyle prepared two Group One winners during his time with Patinack taking out the Champagne Stakes at Randwick with Onemorenomore and TJ Smith at Eagle Farm with Linky Dink.

He was the major trainer for Tinkler until last month when it was announced Bart Cummings' long-time foreman John Thompson would join the fold so that Patinack Farm's massive team of horses could be split between the pair.

Racing NSW deputy chairman of stewards Marc Van Gestel confirmed on Monday that stewards had been advised Thompson would take over the training of the entire Patinack team.

"(Chief stewards) Ray Murrihy received official confirmation from John Thompson this morning that he had taken over the training of the Patinack horses," Van Gestel said.

Tinkler is a man who wants to win. Cummings or Coyle havent done that well enough to satisfy him.
