SYDNEY, March 13 AAP - The Winter Stakes in Brisbane in June is a possible Group One target for consistent mare Beaded who stretched her record to seven wins from nine starts with victory at Randwick on Saturday.
The win gave the Darley team something to savour after a disappointing day when Denman was beaten in the Australian Guineas at Flemington and Kidnapped finished eighth in the Randwick Guineas.
"It was a terrific effort," Peter Snowden's foreman Brad Widdup said.
"Her record speaks for itself.
"I left the tactics up to Hugh (Bowman) and he came up the inside when everyone else was going outside.
"She will go to the Sapphire Stakes and if Peter thinks she shows she can run 1400 metres she will head to the Winter Stakes in Brisbane."
Beaded ($3 fav) held off Alverta ($6.50) by a half-neck with Illuminates ($18) 2-1/2 lengths away third.
