LONDON, Dec 1 PA - The Melbourne Cup is among the goals for Barbican next year with the emerging stayer an easy winner of his final race of 2011 at Kempton.
The Listed Wild Flower Stakes (2400m) brought up Barbican's sixth win of the year since he was bought by a client of trainer Alan Bailey after being unraced when with Aidan O'Brien.
Settled just off the pace by Ryan Moore, the three-year-old strolled to a five length victory as the even money favourite.
Bailey said Barbican had been accepted for the Dubai carnival in March and the Melbourne Cup was also a target.
"The Melbourne Cup is towards the end of next year and that will definitely be on the agenda," Bailey said.
