MELBOURNE, March 13 AAP - Jockey Steven Arnold will miss the Group One ride on Madame Pedrille in the Sportingbet Classic in Adelaide after being suspended at Caulfield.

Arnold was found guilty of careless riding on third-placed Dao Dao in Saturday's Group Two Blamey Stakes for shifting out near the 700 metres and causing interference to Rightfully Yours, who finished second last.

Stewards viewed the interference in the mid-range and, after taking into account Arnold's riding record of two suspensions in the last year, suspended him for 11 meetings from midnight on Saturday.

The Sportingbet Classic is at Morphettville next Saturday and Arnold won't be able to ride until March 24.

Meanwhile Nicholas Hall was fined $1000 for excessive use of the whip on Australian Cup winner Zipping.

Zipping won the Cup in a photo finish from Sirmione after Hall struck his mount 10 times in a forehand manner before the 100 metres, which is double the acceptable level.
