god damn HK is hard, clean sweep tonight, big fat 0, every one of my tips had no excuse what so ever, all had the most perfect gun runs just always got swamped in the straight by swoopers, or just couldnt run on in the straight and sunk away, there's no way i can bet big there, it'd be like a giant blackhole swallowing my money.

You are a great example of what punters want - to WIN. All the integrity, all the form and huge crowds but if the punter can't win it means nothing. If the punter wins on a maiden at the provincials it's a great race for him.

An old trainer who used me to get his money on taught me this. I asked why he only bet heavy at about four tracks. I expected a detailed answer on the surface, shape, length of straight etc. What he said was he had success at those four tracks and did his arse in the past on others. All that matters when you are plunging on the horse is it wins.

And, Happy Valley is pretty hard going, even at the best of times.

It is late spring in Hong Kong now, and rain can be expected from now on, as we approach the wet summer season, so basically it's only SHA TIN for me from now on, and then ONLY THE LAST HALF - races 6 thru 10. It's that time of the year when I really like to see the conditions on the day, and make my decisions around half time!

i guess i should start been more meticulous like you DJ. 

Yes, and/or bet bigger where you win. 

Yes don't be afraid to decide not to bet if conditions are not suitable. There is always another day!

I can do the form for 3 or 4 hours on a meeting, but if the rains comes, or the horses I fancy are not suited by any track conditions, I can simply just close my books and sit back and enjoy the racing without betting!

Just had my first look at the card on Saturday May 11 at Sha Tin, and to me, the best race to play is the last race, race 10.

LAST RACE DJ ..... I always do well on the last race, and when the season nears its end, we are up to meeting 66 of the 83 meet season, I often only play the last and/or second last race on the card.

Yes in Hong Kong they always put the better class races on in the latter part of the day.

Oh and by the way, typo error. Bob Seger celebrated his 68th (not 98th) birthday this week. LOL.
