Rounding the home turn Rheinfels (M Zahra), which was racing neatly on the inside of Mr Speaker, shifted out slightly and in doing so made contact with Mr Speaker which was racing tightly on the inside of Bladon. As a result of this the hindquarters of Mr Speaker where turned out and the colt became unbalanced and then shifted in slightly. This resulted in Rheinfels then shifting in abruptly and making contact with the running rail, becoming unbalanced and severely hampered. Stewards reprimanded M Zahra for initially shifting out where there was insufficient room and making contact with Mr Speaker and also notified J.Winks to ensure he leaves sufficient galloping room on his inside when in similar circumstances in future.

FLEMINGTON RACE 4 NO 6 BEAR HERO $20
(D Ferraris) 3c By General Nediym - Windfall (4:3-1-0): Hong Kong galloper who capped off hattrick with 3/4 len win (48.5) Eagle Regiment, Time After Time 1000m Sha Tin C3 June 11 when favourite before final outing at home first-up 3/4 len 2nd (54.0) King Mossman 1200m Sha Tin C3 Sept 11. Favourite all four runs to date. Ferraris declared at Werribee on Wednesday that his son of General Nediym is a high class sprinter and the horse will appreciate racing in his own age division.
"My horse is a very good horse and he'll prove it on Saturday against his own age group," Ferraris said.
"I've got a very high opinion of my horse and Sepoy is obviously very good so I'm hoping we can give him a good contest.
"He'll certainly, I can tell you now, give him a run for his money on Saturday."
BRETT PREBBLE WILL NEED TO PUT HIS FOOT TO THE METAL AND BURN THEM OFF.
He then went on to rule out any chance of a $55,000 late entry fee being paid for Bear Hero to back up seven days later to clash with Black Caviar in the Patinack Farm Classic if the horse was to cause a major surprise and defeat Australia's glamour colt on Saturday.

Reed sounded very very confident on radio of a forward showing. Could win the Perth Cup , Is following a very similar prep to Lords Ransom a few years back, ran a cracker in the Railway, a little flat second up in the Kingston Town and then went bang in the Cox stakes, can see a similar progression for Kincaple here

Ego's Dare has been freshened with beach work since arriving at Grant Williams' stable and will make his debut for his new trainer in Saturday's Group 1 Burswood Winter- bottom Stakes (1200m).
Raced by a syndicate featuring prominent WA owner Elio Galante, Ego's Dare has been transferred from the Sydney stables of Gerald Ryan after scoring six wins from 31 starts for $312,675 in prize money.
Shaun O'Donnell has been booked for the ride on Ego's Dare in the $500,000 sprint.
The Hussonet seven-year-old, who was flown to Perth last Tuesday, has won all his races when first and second-up.
Williams said he knew very little about Ego's Dare but he had settled in well to his new surroundings.
"We only got him last week so we don't know much about him," Williams said. "We've taken him to the beach to freshen him up and keep him happy.
"He's a nice horse and Alana (Williams' wife) says he goes good. She's usually on the mark."
Ryan took Ego's Dare to Melbourne after his eye-catching fourth to Love Conquers All in the Group 2 The Shorts (1100m) at Rosehill in September.
He was not disgraced when 10th, beaten five lengths, to Sister Madly in the Group 2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) at Flemington before his ninth to Down Under Boy over 1400m at the same track.

I noticed a couple from the Gosford trials last week that might be worth watching. Lotsa Land (coming off a long spell) was under a throttle hold when second in the fastest MDN trial of the day. Amber's Arion (unraced) from the Lees stable looked like she was about to jump out of the ground when Gibbons grabbed hold and pulled her up for third. He must have been told not to show her up, because he almost sh!# himself when she started to get warm!!
im not sure if everyone caught it so ill put it up here. Was in the paper a few days ago that this horse is flying in the trials racking up faster times than group 1 winners probably worth bb and following.

Foxy One was slow to begin. Chomp and Kypria both over-raced during the middle
stages. Playful Miss was unable to obtain clear running in the straight until passing
the 150m. Chomp was unable to obtain fully clear running at any stage in the straight
and as a result went to the line without being fully tested. When questioned regarding
his handling of Foxy One over the final 500m, M. McGuren (a) stated he was
instructed to ride Foxy One with cover and save the mare up for one run in the
straight. M. McGuren (a) added after being slow to begin Foxy One travelled strongly
during the middle stages in a midfield position and near the 500m he contemplated
following Island Dane into the race but being mindful of his instructions he was
reluctant to improve four wide at that point of the race. M. McGuren (a) added shortly
after straightening he improved to the inside of Kypria anticipating that mare would
weaken after a hard run, but when Island Dane improved to his outside he became
held up and was disappointed for a run between Lionhearted Girl and Island Dane
near the 100m. M. McGuren (a) added after being disappointed he shifted out
abruptly on Foxy One into clear running and from that point the mare found the line
strongly. Whilst stewards accepted the explanation of M. McGuren (a) he was
advised in the future to ride all mounts in a manner which leaves no room for query.

Lady Be Great began well in her 822 metre heat but was kept on a tight rein by the jockey settling a length from the speed. Approching the turn Lady Be Great was allowed to slide up closer to the speed and hitting the top of the rise she'd strode through to lead. The final 300 metres of the trial saw Lady Be Great revelling in her work with no serious pressure from the jockey to win her trial running away by 1-1/4 in the time of 50.60 seconds. This daughter of Charge Forward definitely has above average ability. On debut she spanked the likes of Gaze In Awe and Queenian and both of those horses have since won and been more than competitive in Saturday city grade. Lady Be Great is a runner and will take some beating when the stable produce her.

Quality galloper Like An Eagle is set to embark on an Eastern States campaign at Sandown next Saturday, where he will have his first outing back from a spell in a 0-89 Handicap.
The Ross and Clint Price trained galloper is already in Victoria, following his recent trial victory at Bunbury on January 6.
Like An Eagle, a winner of five of his eight race starts, was taken East by the father- son training partnership in search of open tracks with a little give in the surface.
"He isn't in Victoria for anything special, he only rates 82 in WA so it will be interesting to see how he can measure up in the East. He wouldn't like Ascot, so I felt it would be better for the horse to take him East." Trainer Ross Price said to Perth Racing.
"Clint will look after him while he is in Victoria, we are both currently at the Sales in Sydney, but from here, Clint will go to Victoria to prepare Like An Eagle." Price added. Clint said the horse was pulling his arse of in track work since arriving

Sprinter Shock Value has been transferred to the Victorian stables of trainer David Hayes in a bid to extend his career.
Shock Value, rated at 102, carried top weight of 58kg at his last start in the Crawford Stakes (1000m) last Saturday week when fourth to Highly Toxic (53kg).
The Key Business gelding, owned by Rangeview Stud owners Robbie and Jodie Gray, has won $387,800 from his nine wins and eight placings from 27 starts, including successive Birthday Stakes wins at Belmont Park.
Shock Value's task of carrying big weights in WA would have been a further problem from January 1 when the weight scale is to be increased by 1kg after a successful campaign by the Australian Jockeys' Association.
"In Melbourne he should get a bit of relief in the scale and drop to a 97 rating," former trainer Jim Taylor said. "He should get in with a lighter weight which he can carry to still be a chance to win.
"He just can't carry top weight on 58kg and beat those lower-weighted horses.
"It is going to be even harder for a horse like him from next year because the top weight will be 59kg."
Hayes is establishing a new team of gallopers after selling off Lindsay Park in South Australia and now operates from a state-of-the-art training centre at Euroa.
The horse arrived on the Thursday the 5th of January at the Flemington stable and has been transferred to Euroa.
He arrived very fit and ready to go to the races but David Hayes wants to put a little more condition on the horse before he races. He is scheduled to gallop tomorrow morning and may be entered for the open 1000m race at Flemington this Saturday but is only a remote chance of running. There are some great races for a horse on this handicap mark over the next few months:
