Green Moon deserves a win here. Ran on brilliantly in the Caulfield Cup and can't see a horse which romped home as good as southern speed to beat it. I will be unloading on GM at anything better than 3.50. HOW COULD THIS KIND OF RACE BE RACE 2!! WHAT A HUGE DAY OF RACING THIS WILL BE!!!!
Green Moon won't want it too wet, I guess that's why Centrebet have him at $3.75
You fellas that like Moyenne Corniche for the Melbourne Cup, should be having a look at Fox Hunt as well. Fox Hunt carried 61.5 in the Ebor and Moyenne 55, Fox Hunt was beaten about 3L's and was inconvenienced late and should've finished at least a length closer. There is only 1.5kgs between them in the Melbourne Cup. Fox Hunt is guaranteed a run.
Going with Gartmans read on the race ... Tullamore has the goods. I think that Galiani on its last run deserves a place in multiples.
Yep I hear you oodmutler - had to balance off heels and the horse can stay too! MODUN was in that race and FOXHUNT also claims weight off him. Saw Modun's next start though, in which he showed tremendous acceleration to spank HARRIS TWEED (no, the other one!) over 2400m. Query whether he'll stay 3200m's though Modun. Reckon the FOX will. But I really, really like these internationals that have run in Oz beforehand and are more acclimatised to our lands. DUNADEN and the new four-legged 'Battler's Prince' BAUER for instance!! :o)
This race? Oh yeah - form from Caulfield Cup looks slightly more sound than the HERBERT (though TANBY has continued to impress), thought TULLAMORE's run was the best of the beaten...but MOYENNE was very impressive in the HP and I reckon he is the one here...the double bet linking this race (which he needs to win to even qualify) into the MC is the very opposite of silly as well!!

Looking at the Order of Entry...Glass Harmonium you would expect will be heading for a spell after the McKinnon,. L.Williams has stated Linton is a 10% chance of running in the Melbourne Cup. D.Hayes has stated if Tactic doesn't run in the first five in the Lexus, then they most likely will not press on to the cup....looking at his odds it is highly unlikely of a top five finish. Sahara Sun has already been withdrawn by Luca Cumani.
With those four out, it would mean:
21. Tullamore
22.The Verminator
23. Moyenne Corniche
24. Saptapadi
25. Bauer
I know Brian Ellison mentioned he would prefer not to run again before Tuesday....i wonder if he'll roll the dice and scratch....

remember if an unqaulified horse wins this they go into field
True, which would push Moyenne Corniche down to 24....interesting to see if they roll the dice.
Which increases the chances of Green Moon I think. From a good draw will be near the pace and it will be a little more difficult for the swoopers to make up ground - with less pace in the race.
As expected Moyenne Corniche scratched. Soon there will be no one left for Green Moon to beat ...
Will Moyenne Corniche make the Cup field?
What the hell happened to it? I saved on Niwot thank god but GM was a major disappointment. Lloyd was confident....
Niwot sure loves Flemington, thats a great start to the day.
