Surprised one of the bookmakers hasn't paid out on NZ yet. Should be a cake walk!

They pay out early to pretend they are your mate. They do it for promotional purposes and to suck up to the us, the punters. Don't fall for it, they want your money not you respect. Sooner we have one tote and no bookies the better.

You are off your rocker les! One tote and no books?! Thats the most retarded thing i have heard. No one makes you bet with a bookie, you can just bet with the tote now if you want while the rest of up get better odds and promos from the books. Also yes the paying out early is a promotional tool, but its a win win because its great for the punters not just them. Same a sportsbet refunding bet on December Draw last week

The bookies today are what Winfield , Rothmans, Malboro were to sport 30 years ago, they are pushing a drug. You cannot wtach a game of footy or cricket or surfing even without having some geezer jump up and tell you the odds and to have a bet and do it now!

Don't need them, lose them and have one central tab with fixed odds options ( maybe a few bookies under the one umbrella ), this is fine for a country with a small population like Australlia.

Kids will grow up thinking they have to bet on everything that moves unless the curb this relentless push that ambling is cool.

Giving money back for lost bets is all part of the illusion that gambling is nice and friendly, it ain't , it can be a drug for some.

I like your thoughts lesnorton. I also worry about how "nice and acceptable" they are trying to make gambling.

I like having multiple bookies for some competition but I agree that its annoying watching sports on tv with a barrage of odds on the screen. It commentators usually sound uncomfortable having to announce them aswell.
