Gloucester Park - Tonight - Preview

Race 1

CHOCOLATTO is drawn to lead and have every chance from the poll, with Woodley in the sulky he should be driven aggressively and take catching with the other good horses drawn the second row. SPECKS PERTUM is drawn to follow through on the back of Chocolatto which is a great spot to be in at GP. The 2 quality runners off the back row are DALVEY GOLD and UPPEY SON but because of the draw they may fail to get into a winning position.

Race 2

This is an open race with plenty of opportunities, the way the race is run will decide who wins. U RIPPA looks like crossing to lead from gate 2 which should give the good run through for FRANCO QUARRY, he should get a cover close to the leaders and be a good chance. NOMORE MR NICEGUY should be pushing forward to lead and trying to take control from U RIPPA, if he gets there it should result in both of them running good races.

Race 3

Another open race with many chances but i like FALCON MEDLEY to be fired off the arm by Woodley in search of the lead, if he gets there he is the horse to beat without question. CAPTAIN DALE will be kicking up early trying to hold him out but if he crosses the poll marker he should then take a sit giving him the gun run behind the leader. Of the others PACKED SAFELY will be sitting 3 or 4 back the pegs and if the race opens up late should be slicing through to fight out the placings.

Race 4

The ever consistent DUNDEE THREE will be extremely hard to beat here even from the wide gate. Both XUPAN THREE and ALL IN BABY will be kicking up underneath him so they can find his back so that may make him work a bit early, but he is a classy horse and should have no problems doing it at both ends here. XUPAN THREE should have the pace to hold his back which puts All in Baby in a bad spot. THE SMOOTH OPERATOR will be covered upon the pegs doing no work and Dundee Three should split them up the last half so will be able to find a run through into the placings.

Race 5

BORAT has drawn sensationally here in gate 1 and finally gets his chance to show what he is made of. MACH DYNASTY will have a crack for the lead early but i doubt Brown would hand up with BORAT as he is an extremely tough customer. SPIRITWITHIN draws perfectly behind Borat and will follow through to be likely sitting leaders back which will make him very dangerous at the end when he should get the final shot at the leader. If MACH DYNASTY doesnt find the lead i believe he will struggle and a horse like TALK IT UP or MON GEE should be able to get through to claim the trifecta spot.

Race 6

This race will be dominated by the leaders, i expect ALBERT JACCKA to cross SNEAKYN DOWN UNDER at the start and from there hose 2 should be fighting out the race. It looks a good quinella on paper. FAST PLAY will sit 3 back the pegs and not have to spend a penny until the last quarter which should see him have the ability to slice through past the tired runners to grab third prize. GRINJARO has a sensational turn of pace but i feel he will have to do all the work himself here to get into the race so wont be able to take full advantage of that speed. Little Sonny Bill will most likely be in the market but i doubt could cross the inside 2.

Race 7

The race of the night. Another race that running position is the key. REAL LIFE, DASHER VC, DAVID HERCULES will all be looking for the lead early so expect some fireworks, also RAKAREBEL will be going hard to ensure it hold the back of the leader. In my mind REAL LIFE finds the lead and will not be taking a sit on anything, he is extremely tough and you dont want him sitting outside you. RAKAREBEL will have the pace to hold its back if REAL LIFE holds the lead and will be a brilliant place bet in this race. DASHER VC will be forced to sit parked and although he is a tremendous horse if he goes to war with REAL LIFE i think he will come off second best. The sleeper here will be CROMBIE, he will do no work sit 3 back the pegs and be sprinting hard the final quarter. I like him to fill a place. DAVID HERCULES is a super horse and very hard to leave out but he will do too much work early for no result i think.

Race 8

All the class is on the back line here so its hard to put your finger on how the race will be run. Im just going to go for the quality in the race and that is EASTON SWIFT, he has drawn horribly outside the second row but his main dangers havent drawn much better. LINCOLN BEACH GIRL will probably get buried on the pegs so might find it hard to get a look in but if the run comes will be flashing home for a place. The best horse on the front line is SAYWHATYOUSEE and might be able to lead from gate 4, if he does he becomes a major player as he will settle well in front of the big guns in the race and should be able to beat home at least a couple of them with a good run.

Race 9

From the stand if number 1 HUSTLERS CROWN begins well he will be extremely hard to beat. The danger OHOKA DU NORD has drawn out the back and that will end up being the difference i think. They seem clearly the top 2. BEST LEGACY is racing in great form and gets his chance to get a good sit in the run from position 2. If one of those 3 didnt win i would be extremely surprised.

Race 10

ON ALL FOURS is a solid EW chance to end on, has good form, drawn perfectly in a weak field and will be in the finish. SONNY AMBRO is a chance of dropping on its back at the start and that will be a huge plus, Im Grant Lea from inside the 2nd row was horrible last week and will probably drop out with 600m to go again. Of the others UNDERTHEINFLUENCE has to go in as third pick as the class drops right off after the top 3.
