1. HAYNE 2. J.MORRIS 3. JENNINGS/TAHU 4. LYON 5. MERRET/ B MORRIS 6. SUTTON 7. GIDLEY 8. CROSS 9. ENNIS 10. WHITE 11. WATMOUGH 12. CREAGH 13. LEWIS
BENCH: GALLEN, BIRD, WEYMAN, FARAH
LEWIS can cover wing, centre, halfback, 5/8, second row but HAS to start
FARAH can cover hooker, half
BIRD can cover centre, 5/8, second row, lock
Start with the big bangers in CROSS and WHITE to soften em up with WATMOUGH and CREAGH running hard.... after 20 minutes bring on WEYMAN with a head of steam... at the 25 minute mark bring on BIRD and GALLEN the psycho brothers for CROSS and WATMOUGH at the 30min mark bring on FARAH for ENNIS and CROSS back on for WHITE.
The QLDERS wouldnt know what hit them...
The WORST DECISONS from Game 1: KIMMORLEY, LYON at 5/8, IDRIS, LEWIS on bench, HAYNE at wing, LEAHROYD LAHRS. By far the worst decision was to put a young IDRIS on the bench instead of a game breaker like FARAH... if you can carry an extra centre on the bench why wouldnt you carry FARAH who can ignite a game from dummy half or halfback?

love to see a market on Lewis and Hayne both getting off tonight... I bet they'd be short, given the fact they're Blues....! Daley is apparantly VERY confident they'll get off.... throw the rule book out the window if they do get off...

suprised to not see Slater get charged as well BTW... maybe they should bring in the option to a stay of proceeedings like with the Jocks? then they can play Origin and miss the next game?

There is no rule book anymore mate. I reckon Hayne will get off somehow, it wasn't really a headbutt, and they'll find plenty of instances where players haven't been penalised/charged for similar looking stuff. Bellew and co are clever buggers (how about JT's lawyer last week), I'd love to have one around next time I get a parking ticket. Lewis is gone though, the only thing players always get suspended for is dropping blokes on their head. I was sure he broke his cheek on saturday anyway.

BTW I like your idea about the stay of proceedings Runny. Obviously not for this year, but seeing as the SOO isn't a club comp, doesn't really make any sense for suspensions to carry over from club games. Rep games have a completely different judiciary system anyway. I can understand why they would have to carry penalties from rep footy back to club footy though. Even bring it in for the regular comp maybe, give a player longer than 24 hours to prepare a case.

Beau Scott plays in the centers for the dragons for defensive purposes, helps jamie soward! Maybe his in the origin team for defense aswell! Definately not a weak link.

who is he going to defend in ORIGIN??? PEARCE and BARRETT??? the finl 17 team admittedly looks a little better than i thought but maybe thats just cos HINDMARSH is there i think... all in all we could add so much more creativity in the team but seriously i just cant wait for HAYNE v SLATER round 2....

The NRL is smoking something heavy. How can you let Hayne off??? I want him to play, dont get me wrong, but rules are rules and headbutting isnt allowed. Apparently headbutting is ok

I too was hoping he got off just to see who was picked in the team, i think it is a CLASSIC that your Captain can't make the starting team lol. Set's a dangerous precedent for the rest of the season at the judiciary.

I dont think a captain has started off the bench in any rugby league game in history, let alone a State Of Origin crunch game... You NSWelshmen really have pulled out a beauty this time

i think you will find that CAYLESS from the EELS has retained captaincy but started off the bench for a few games NUDGEY... interesting to note that the rule which was to affect HAYNE was changed from "causing discomfort or injury" to "INTENT to cause discomfort or injury" 1 HOUR before the judicial hearing lol... if thats so why is SLATER playing? His intent was pretty clear when he knifed the elbow into the back of HAYNES head on the ground??? Did LEWIS intend to cause injury or discomfort in that tackle?? What i can say is that when i played our intent was ABSOLUTELY to cause discomfort to our opposition... obviusly serious injurys aside but hell yeah we loved to see some blood on the field... thats what makes it great and what made good players GREAT... i dunno lads... ive just about had enough of it all to be honest... with the NSW selectors being such idiots and leaving out GREAT exciting players, blatant changing of rules, BELLAMY wingeing at every opportunity and the NSW selectors continually saying that BELLAMY had the final say on the team im just about fed up... as a NSWelshman im almost really not caring anymore?? For me that is really really quite sad!!!

It wasn't a headbutt, but 2 of the 3 blokes on the judiciary panel were Queenslanders, that's why I was shocked Hayne got off.
Gallen and O'Donnell in the same side? Sounds like they're ready for a bar room brawl in the middle of the park.

what was it if it wasn't a headbutt?!! sets a very dangerous precendent..... And Bob Lindner was the only QLD'er on the panel, the other two were Cockroaches...(Don McKinnon played for NSW & Sean Garlick was a South Sydney Jnr)

My mistake. I was sure McKinnon was a Maroon.

Apologies all round, especially to "Snakes".

I think Beau Scott is a great addition to the side but Icant decide if he would be better coming off the bench or not.
Handy in the centres as he only misses one tackle per game, but would provide utility value off the bench as his preferred/best position is second row.

Hayne Vs Slater = Hayne by KO in the first hahaha!!

Obviously there has been talk of Ricky Stuart being the next NSW coach after he quit the Sharks this week. Who would you guys have as coach?
