Two very good runs at Ascot from Saturday, both came out of good rating races and can be followed very confidently next start. Look for a little better barrier for Donneyonetime he will be very hard to beat in similar grade over the same distance and FR can win with a little less pressure up front excellent run under the circumstances, actually both were. Both have been running excellent ratings for there classes and i don't see why they can't continue. They both have favourable profile's that make them good betting propositions in future races in similar conditions.

Would you mind explaining Donny's run from the w'end Plugger? I didn't see the race, but his sectionals suggest he led and compounded. Is that what happened?

That's exactly what happened Sinestro but he can butter up next time with a little less tempo early on, he ran 23.77 for the first 400m which is very fast for that class. The race was setup for a backmarker and that's exactly how it ended with Megem's boy coming from the tail of the field to win. If he can draw a barrier next start and get rated a bit better he should be right in the finish.

I wonder if Donny can't handle the the extra tempo away from Esperance and Geraldton then? I have no doubt if he goes back to one of those, you're probably right. He has had two runs at Ascot now, and done exactly the same each time.

Three starts ago he got bumped heavily at the start of the race and then wasn't able to lead and also raced wide throughout the entire race. He then rated a 97 rating in Kalgoolie leading all the way which was top rating last start figures for that Ascot race on Saturday, i see no reason why he can't win at Ascot in the future with a little easier time of it up the front.

Just on Sat's Ascot races, what did you think of the first 3 home in the 3yo race (R2)? Thought they were great, myself.

Yeah that race will more than likely rate very well, watching the video a couple of times there were all quite good runs, the winner especially as he sat on a hot speed. Celebration Girl may be able to steal a 20k wednesday race at Ascot or Belmont. Noname city really had his chance to win off the good tempo, he's typically a bookies delight, getting back and running on off good tempo's and then getting undone when they don't run the first section fast enough.

Fortescue flyer resumes tomorrow @ Belmont R7 - Is running in a Restricted 72 Handicap. 3yo+.over 1300m, he has a chance in open race.
There's an interesting runner now trained by Simon miller at Ascot in Senhor de gama and he may prove hard to beat if he can repeat his first up run last campaign where he recorded Career best figures that sit on top of this field. Got beaten by 8ls in a trial on the 8th of August but it was over an unsuitable distance and on Slow ground in which he despises. I'm sure betting will tell us whether he's ready to fire!

Of the other runners in that race Cassidy Cowboy also has competitive figures but failed in his one and only start over 1300m Highest Honour and Catcorp chances with the right runs and Iconoclast will also be powering home late can run time if presented with a good early tempo.

Is well under the odds tomorrow Fortescue Flyer. It's a very open race where any of the 7 runners have a chance with the right run and tempo suiting them.
