Was having a chat today with a mate and we ended up talking about these two turf Champions......

Parallels between their careers are amazing.

Both had their first official trial at Casterton and won them.

Both went out and won their first race at Flemington.

Both had their second trial at Casterton at the end of a spell.

Both went out and won their first race following this trial.

Both were scratched from a Casterton trial.

Only differences are their age and that Sepoy has lost once.

Interesting facts not sure they are 'amazing' similarities though.... have to point out you got your C tracks mixed up, they trialled at Cranbourne not Casterton each time.

Ta xxMET thought Casterton was a bit left field geographically speaking. Should have checked what old mate was saying going from abbrevitions of racecourses more thoughoughly before posting.

Sorry Cracka the Racing Victoria website form show these trials as `CTRN` Cranbourne is shown on the RVL website as `CRAN`. Given that i would have though they were at Casterton but on further research xxMETxx is correct. The `CTRN` stands for `Cranbourne Training` on reflection Casterton is shown as `CAST`. Even so what i find amazing is that with all the trial venues in Victoria that these two each are entered in only 3 so far in their careers. Both winning their first two and scratched from their third, all at the same venue.

greatestnazgul You are correct it was 46.1 over 800m winning by 5 lengths over Womby Princess& Trippled. It was trial 4 of 24 on the day. Interestingly the following two trials also for 2y fillies and were both run in 46.12 just 0.02 sec slower and won by Set for Fame & Desert Passion. Just for comparrison the fastest 800m trial of that morning was run by the 3y gelding Go My Son 45.22 sec. trained by Geg Eurell.
