"She will equal the Australasian record for most consecutive wins at elite level held jointly by Desert Gold and Gloaming if she runs in the Lightning Stakes (1000m) and would seize the record outright the following week with victory in the 1400m Futurity Stakes at her home track at Caulfield." -Herald Sun

Any thoughts? or odds on her winning her next two of races? I want to see her reach 20 here in Aus before she goes overseas again.

Hay List is gona have to suck it up and take 2nd place again if BC races in the Lightning Stakes.
Will BC be able to beat her Lightning Stakes record from last year?> http://bit.ly/xro5uR

They said on the news here in Brisbane last night that connections are re assesing her prep and thoughts are that she will miss the Futurity and run in the Newmarket. Anyone heard this?

I was more worried in Sydney when hay list had lengths on her and she caught up and then some I watched her in Brisbane and glen boss was in Orr after today I can't wait for BLACK CAVIER=WORLD#1_______________FIELD!

don't know that she'll run next week. turned out to be more than the track gallop moody thought it would be. caution may take over. gotta hand it to hay list. ran bc to within 3hundreths of the track record.

mate moody has already said she won't go around next week. we'll be lucky to see her again this year. that was a gut buster today and i wouldn't be surprised if she has a few little niggles after it and needs a good rest before heading overseas. The best prep for her now would be rest, dubai, UK. Hay list was superb, and I've always been a bit of a hay list hater. He deserves BC to stay away for the rest of the year so he can win a few more G1's. Superstar.

Home from Flemington, and have to say that I was simply floored by the Lightning today. I've seen BC run a few times (including the same race last year), but, primarily because of the presence of a fit again Hay List, today's run was simply stunning. Congrats to John McNair and the owners for giving it another crack, especially after injury, and I like to think that some of the applause in the mounting yard was for you, but wow, BC left me and a few others watching quite emotional - what a time for Australian racing.

everything you said and add to the fact hay list! did not run in a straight line look at the light green stripe of grass? hay list! can beat black caviar!

Hay List is a superstar, but he will NEVER beat Black Caviar. Hay List is a once in a decade horse who has unfortunately run into a once in a lifetime horse in the same era. Black Caviar was eased down on the line again, it was great to see her challenged and rip out a sub 10 200m split. After the race, first thing I turned to my mate and said was 'How good is Hay List'?

unbelievable scenes, Hay List throws down the gauntlet, Black Caviar throws down the k.o

this race only proves how good Hay List is, he should travel the world now and make a name for himself, not make a name for himself as the 2nd best, he deserves to win many good races he is absolutely good enough

Yes Horsemiller12 BC & Hay List both eased down on the line , pitty imo BC would now own the course record , Records are not everything but it would shut some clowns up.

Don't forget when Special recorded that time there was a super wind from behind them.

I honestly have never cared about records , what we witnessed yesterday was the best 2 sprinters in the world push each other down the Flemington straight over 1000 mtrs , i love Hay List & have a horse in the stable but as they compete over 1100 , 1200 , 1300 & 1400 BC will put more than 1.75L on him.

I hope they take Hay List to Hong Kong and Japan at the end of the year, because he will brain anything they put up in the major sprint races. I have followed Hay List from his second start in Perth (feel like i found him before the big wraps) and for 75m yesterday I thought maybe it was his day, but she is the best horse I will ever see in my life!!!

Yeh hay list was on the bit with a neck on BC at the 200 and there was a glimpse that he might have been able to kick away but to her credit she found another gear. Someone said on here she won't be a champion till she faces adversity and overcomes it, I think she did that yesterday.
Big fan of foxwedge and i thought he hit the line strongly and with 50kg in the Newmarket i like him.

i think b.c pet distances will be in between 1400m -1600m

Black Caviar in all likelyhood ran THE fastest 1000m ever at Flemington and that on a 7 day back up dropping from 1400m back to 1000m !! Special's super time of 55.50 was almost certainly slower than Black Caviar's official time of 55.53 ( unofficial time of 55.44 was recorded by a Racing Victoria approved clocker ) as back in Special's day the clock stopped at the nearest .5 of a second rounded down. So if a horse ran 56.01 it was recorded as 56.00 however if a horse ran 55.99 it was recorded as 55.50.

Recorded to the nearest .5 of a second? I thought it was .1?
I could very well be wrong though
