I thought us lay'ers needed a place to talk about laying, ideas, methods and a bit of self exposure.

I try to tip lay's that wont break the bank, so most of them are quite short favourites. Of course the odd one wins and sometimes more than one, but normally they are short enough to handle the liability. As you have to tip well before most races are due to be run, this leaves room for some horses to fatten out a bit in the betting. So to cover this I suggest that you don't lay over $5. Can be tough on the nerves when the favorite is fighting out the finish.

Lay primarily at constant exposure, constant exposure is the most productive option, lets you lay many many horses a day without destroying your bank. Take a few on each day at the odds, take them on only if you have done the form for the race thoroughly.

Lay as many horses as you can that are trained by P.Moody and G.Waterhouse and everything ridden by Nash Rawiller, always spruiked, always under the odds with plenty lining up to back them, also lay all FAVS in Sydney Metrop meetings as well as everything Mitchell Manners tips and you cannot lose on the lay.

Do your own form for all Victorian racing, spend allot of time on it, concentrate on Vic Metrop meetings and forget about the rest. particularly NSW racing, let the "experts" pick them for you there, saves allot of time and the experts have no idea but the horses they tip are usually well supported....

I pick out my own lays but your right LTM, people overate moody and Gai and makes their horses well under the odds so they are good to lay (like the first at Newcastle #1)
